This article examines, from a historical-philosophical perspective, how the Derridean hypothesis of national-philosophism can be applied to the analysis of the thesis of the roto chileno in Nicolás Palacios’s Raza chilena (1904). Unlike German national-philosophism, which is structured around spirit and language, Palacios simultaneously negotiates a rejection of the Latin-colonial legacy, an affirmation of Germanness, and a revaluation of Indigenous identity through European racial categories. Its historical persistence reveals an active discursive structure, underscoring the continued relevance of national-philosophism for understanding contemporary nationalisms.
